Foods of the Future Lab is a 1–2 hour immersive session that uses food — coffee, chocolate, mushrooms, greens, insects — as the starting point for genuine team connection and surprising, substantive conversation.

Each session is built around a single food, explored from farm to future, with tasting, dialogue, and reflection woven together into an experience.

Choose from one of the following experiences:

Coffee - We drink it every day. Do we know it at all? On the difference between familiarity and understanding — and what else we assume we know simply because it's close to us. Includes a tasting of coffees of the future.

Chocolate - The supply chain is invisible. By design. On wilful blindness, the comfort of not knowing, and what becomes possible when we choose to look. Includes a tasting of future cacao innovations.

Mushrooms - Value grows where we stop looking. On inclusion, unexpected conditions, and what a city worth living in actually requires. Includes a harvest tasting of mushroom delicacies. The offsite experience at a local farm is capped at 25pax.

Greens - A carpark. Then a farm. What changed? On constraints as invitations, and the assumptions we make about where possibility lives. Includes a tasting of local greens. The offsite experience at a local farm is capped at 25pax.

Insects [Signature Experience] - Nutritionally superior. Environmentally better. Most people still won't try them. Sound familiar? On the gap between knowing and doing — and what transformation actually demands of us. Includes a tasting of up to 7 different savoury and sweet (insect) snacks.

Are the activities going to run exactly as described?

The information provided in this catalogue is tentative and based on a brief overview. The exact activity details will be provided, or customised to meet your requirements, upon discussion.

What is the price of each activity?

The final cost is dependent on various factors, including number of participants, preferred date and time, availability and experience of facilitator(s), and more. The estimated price you may see here is typically an earlier approximation based on 10 pax, and in some cases may be lower with more participants.

As the price range varies for each activity chosen, please submit an activity request for further information. We will then provide the latest updated price based on existing conditions. Where possible, we may suggest another activity to suit your budget.

What is the difference in location - onsite, offsite, online?

These are indicators on where the facilitator can carry out the activity. These are not final and can be discussed later on.

Onsite: On your premises e.g. your office, activity room, or an external venue provided by you.

Offsite: Away from your workplace e.g. on the facilitator or vendor's premises or outdoors.

Online: Virtual session via video conferencing e.g. Google Meet, Zoom.

Hybrid: Some participants can join online while the activity is carried out in person.

What other services do you have?

For other services, here are some possible formats:
-Customised programmes based on a theme (e.g. Sustainability Week, Wellbeing Month, Entrepreneurship Series etc.)
-Recurring sessions with a new activity or topic each time (i.e. one activity session each week)

-Fractional Workplace Experience Support (Planning Team Events)

We are open to ideas for collaboration and new services.

I would like to book or plan for multiple activities over a period of time. How should I do this?

Whether you're looking to book multiple different activities for your event, or book multiple sessions of the same activity to accommodate all your colleagues - we can arrange that for you. You may let us know in your message when you submit a form on our website, or simply contact us at community@urbanorigins.sg.

Do you accept private group bookings?

While our clients are typically corporate teams and school groups, we occasionally have requests from groups like a private gathering of coworkers, or a group of friends. In this case, you may have to include the costs of venue rental if your chosen experience is designated to be held onsite (at a venue provided by you). Please reach out to discuss your request with us.
